[JSON] implementation guidance

[08:19] -->| bergie (~bergie@suvilahti.nemein.net) has joined #json-ld
[08:19] <bergie> hi
[08:20] <bergie> I wrote yesterday a RDFa to JSON-LD (and back) parser
[08:20] <manu1> awesome! is it posted to github yet?
[08:21] <manu1> We also have our own internal RDFa -> JSON-LD parser...
[08:21] <manu1> we're probably going to have to put up a test suite soon
[08:23] <bergie> manu1: https://github.com/bergie/VIE
[08:23] <bergie> MIT license, has bunch of nodeunit tests in
https://github.com/bergie/VIE/blob/master/test/rdfa.js
[08:23] <bergie> with VIE you can either do RDFa->JSONLD->RDFa or also
JSONLD->Backbone->JSONLD
[08:24] <bergie> runs on both browser and CommonJS
[08:24] <manu1> that is fantastic, bergie! very excited about the work
you're doing!
[08:25] <manu1> If you didn't know, JSON-LD is one of the inputs to the
RDF Working Group (concerning their serialization of RDF in JSON)
[08:25] <bergie> the basic idea we started with was
http://bergie.iki.fi/blog/decoupling_content_management/
[08:25] <bergie> manu1: yep. JSON-LD seemed like the cleanest
serialization format to work with
[08:25] <manu1> so, if you have an implementation and we have an
implementation, that's all you need for a world standard to make it
through the Candidate Recommendation phase (they need two interoperable
implementations)
[08:26] <bergie> easy enough that we don't scare the CMS implementers
with "too much semantics" ;-)
[08:26] <manu1> bergie, that's good to know - the group is currently
having a difficult time figuring out exactly what RDF in JSON should be
[08:26] <manu1> so having implementation guidance from someone like you
would be very helpful
