No, the crazy-looking predicate URIs are mandated by the Microdata
spec:

http://www.w3.org/TR/microdata/#generate-the-triples-for-an-item

See step 6.1.5, "If name contains no U+003A COLON characters".

If you want non-crazy predicate URIs in Microdata, you need to use full
URIs.
