A question about property path : Translate Property Path Expressions

Syntax Form (path)          translate(path)

X !(^:iri1|...|^:irin)Y       ^(X !(:iri1|...|:irin) Y)

I wonder whether it should be written as shown below in order to be 
consistent with the definition of X ^path Y :

X !(^:iri1|...|^:irin)Y       X ^ (!(:iri1|...|:irin))  Y
