I went through it with hg view (and hgk), and you have merged
perfectly, nothing has been lost, you have only changed your own
readme.txt and the crime.owl.to-prov.pdf/png

A good tip is probably to do hg pull and hg update (and any hg merge /
hg commit if needed) often, before doing any change, then you would be
staying ahead of the curve.
