Re: Proposed addition to list of approved card networks: cartes bancaires (cb)

Actually in France, CB is extensively used by consumers as a card 
acceptance brand and the two letters (which stand for "Cartes Bancaires") 
represent the major French card scheme accepting all major card brands 
used in our country.

GIE CB is usually referred to, indeed, by professionals given that GIE is 
an acronym for "Economic Interest Group"; the legal form assigned to the 
organisation in France and which indicates that it operates on behalf of 
its member banks exclusively (so non-profit).

My two-cent contribution to the issue...

I've asked around and `giecb` is quite extensively used locally by
professionals, but wouldn't make a tone of sense to consumers. I don't
know to which extends these IDs are customer facing though (I presume
it depends on implementations).
