All,

In the meantime, I've started an instance of the old
<community.linkedddata.org> instance at:
http://ec2-75-101-170-16.compute-1.amazonaws.com/ods/ .

If it gets mapped at DNS back to: community.linkeddata.org, you then
seek a WebID, simply go to Profile Edit, the click the "Security" Tab,
and then click on the "Generate" button.

You can also do one of the following:

1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRbdeNMPCug - watch the very process
demonstrated
2.
http://virtuoso.openlinksw.com/dataspace/dav/wiki/Main/GetAPersonalURIIn5MinutesOrLess
-- read this doc about getting a WebID in 5 minutes of less
3.
http://www.slideshare.net/kidehen/linked-data-spaces-data-portability-access
-- essence of the presentation I gave at WWW2008 in Beijing re. Data
Portability and Linked Data Spaces .

Don't do anything if you can't get to the instance via:
http://community.linkeddata.org/ods (the authority part of the URI needs
to be functional).

Henry:

Here are some links to simply interfaces to the same instance:
1. http://ec2-75-101-170-16.compute-1.amazonaws.com/php/users/users.php
-- PHP
2.
http://ec2-75-101-170-16.compute-1.amazonaws.com/javascript/users/users.html
-- HTML + Javascript
3. http://ec2-75-101-170-16.compute-1.amazonaws.com/vsp/users/users.vsp
-- Virtuoso PL based page .

If the DNS mapping is done, I'll upgrade the instance, so the pages
above also offer what you get via the ODS application route re. WebID
generation etc..
