We have removed the example to the Best Practices document. As for question regarding a media type like "application/its+xml": We do not indent to define such a media type, since (A) the linked documents may contain ITS global rules, but only as a part (i.e. not with <its:rules> as the root element), and (B) the ITS draft does not define any behavior relying on media types.
