Re: Normative status of author-only view of the HTML5 specification

Maciej, Boris, HTMLWG,

It was very quickly brought to my attention that i had made a gross error and violated the explicit privacy of a member of the WG. I immediately responded to the member in private with the most sincere apologies and inquired if there was any action i could take to reverse or remedy the situation. I do not wish to further comment on such private correspondence.

I now want to extend those apologies to the entire WG and reassure all members that the behaviour i am ashamed to have displayed was a gross mistake and one which i am now highly attuned to and have taken extreme personal resolve to guarantee that such mistakes never happen again.

It has deeply saddened me that i have unwittingly been the source of leaking private opinions and i hope that the members of the WG will disregard such information as it is invalid for any public discussion.

In addition, but to far lesser extent, it had also saddened me that i have discredited myself and brought my own competence into question when my pure intention was to bring positive rhetoric to issues which are in negative contention.

I hope that members of the WG will accept this apology as it is given and that with further humble involvement in the HTML specification process i might someday regain some of the trust and respect which i been so foolish as to threaten.

I hope that this thread will return to the topic at hand, and i respectfully bow out from this discussion.

Cameron Jones
