prose content and del elements (typo?)

This sentence:
For the purposes of this requirement, del elements and their
descendants must not be counted as contributing to the ancestors of
the del element.

Is that last "del" a typo? Should it be something like this:
For the purposes of this requirement, del elements and their
descendants must not be counted as contributing to the ancestors of
any element.
