johnsim: when we discussed this previously i thought there was
   some consolidation

<paulc> last week's minutes said this is a possible duplicate:

EME status and bugs

paulc: need to update the copyright with the new text
   ... see the FPWD

<ddorwin> My email with bug actions:
   [15]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-media/2013M
   ay/0103.html

     [15] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-media/2013May/0103.html

paulc: best bet is to find david's email and step through that
... last week i suggested we needed to know who is on point for
   various bugs
... there are 10 or 15 items here
... we could open action items for these
... first is Mark to add text to the Editor's Draft per

   [16]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-media/2013M
   ay/0068.html

     [16] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-media/2013May/0068.html

<scribe> ACTION: markw to add text to Editor's Draft for bug
   21155 [recorded in
   [17]http://www.w3.org/2013/05/21-html-media-minutes.html#action
   01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-12 - Add text to Editor's Draft for
bug 21155 [on Mark Watson - due 2013-05-28].

ACTION-12: this action will also track bug 21569

<trackbot> Notes added to ACTION-12 Add text to Editor's Draft
   for bug 21155.

ddorwin: i think we can make the text change for bug 21569 and
   that should handle 21155
... we can review next week if that actually happened

paulc: next is Adrian to review comments and add text to the
   Editor's Draft for bug 19009

<scribe> ACTION: adrianba to review comments and add text to
editor's draft for bug 19009 [recorded in
   [18]http://www.w3.org/2013/05/21-html-media-minutes.html#action
   02]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-13 - Review comments and add text to
editor's draft for bug 19009 [on Adrian Bateman - due
   2013-05-28].

paulc: next is John Simmons needs to add his comments from the
   5/7 telecon

   to bug 16857

johnsim: i'm not sure which comment i was supposed to add
... mark has added a comment to 16857
... issue is whether we need a separate error code for not
   having a needkey handler
... whether we would force people to have a handler

   <paulc> Mark's comment on 16857 is at
   [19]https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=16857#c4

     [19] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=16857#c4

johnsim: i agree with mark's comment - the error would be used
for protected content and no needkey handler
... the question is how do we resolve this bug

paulc: are you saying that comment 4 records the discussion

johnsim: yes, i think so but i don't think everyone concurs

ddorwin: there is some concern that having this handler might
   be a problem
... the action was to record the other side so we can fix it

<scribe> ACTION: ddorwin to fix bug 16857 with mark's comment

   <trackbot> Created ACTION-14 - Fix bug 16857 with mark's
comment #4 [on David Dorwin - due 2013-05-28].

   <markw> I am not a cross-origin expert

   paulc: next is bug 21203
   ... EME leaks

   04]

   <trackbot> Created ACTION-15 - Add text based on henri's
comment to the spec for bug 21203 [on Adrian Bateman - due
   2013-05-28].

     [23] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=21977

paulc: bug 21977 Swap isTypeSupported() parameter order so
   keySystem is

   first

ddorwin: looking for feedback - easy change - avoids having the
   first parameter be null

   jdsmith: i don't have objections

markw: what would happen if someone got them the wrong way
around - might be implementations already

   ddorwin: it would fail

markw: it would be easy code to check for this robustly

<scribe> ACTION: ddorwin to implement the change in bug 21977
   in the draft [recorded in
   [24]http://www.w3.org/2013/05/21-html-media-minutes.html#action
   05]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-16 - Implement the change in bug
21977 in the draft [on David Dorwin - due 2013-05-28].

paulc: next are waiting for comments especially from adrian
   16540, 20336, 20798

ddorwin: these are bugs where adrian had made a comment and i
   had replied
... one action could address each of them

paulc: not a good practice unless the bugs are related because
doing one bug would result in a partially complete action

ddorwin: worry about having too many actions that duplicate
   bugs

   adrianba: are the bugs related?

ddorwin: two are key system format and case sensitivity
... could group the first and third

<scribe> ACTION: adrianba to provide feedback on keySystem
string bugs 16540 and 20798 [recorded in
   [25]http://www.w3.org/2013/05/21-html-media-minutes.html#action
   06]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-17 - Provide feedback on keySystem
string bugs 16540 and 20798 [on Adrian Bateman - due
   2013-05-28].

   <paulc> Bug

     [26] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=20336

adrianba: i can provide comment on bug 20336 - i stand by my
comment 3, i think it is reasonable to keep this on source, it
works, and there are reasonable use cases
... so i propose just resolving the bug

paulc: editors will resolve 20336 as WORKSFORME

   <paulc> Bug
   [27]https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=19096

     [28] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=19096

paulc: we will discuss 19096 at the next meeting

scribe: Provide more details on behavior of the media element
when the key for an encrypted block is not available
... waiting for comments from mark and joe
... not hearing any comments - should put this on the next
   agenda

paulc: these bugs are waiting for comments/responses
   ... 20691 and 20338
... we decided to make the type parameter required
... i was wondering if we should make initdata required too
... which makes the other bug moot

   <ddorwin> specifically, this comment:
   [30]https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=20691#c3

     [31] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=20691

paulc: does anyone want to express an opinion on 20691
... i suppose you could implement your recommendation and see
   if joe responds

   <markw> +1 to Pauls suggestion

paulc: at this stage i think that's what we should do
... rather have things be reopened than not move

paulc: bugs 21854 and 21855 include the words important and

ddorwin: others welcome to chime in

paulc: made it through david's list with 10 minutes left
... everyone who has actions items - when they are done you
   should update the action item
... good to send a mail to the list

Any other business

paulc: in advance of the MSE pre-last call period i sent
notification to the web and tv IG contacts
... and the reps of the external orgs that talked to us
   recently
... got an email saying that they want to know if they should
   file questions as bugs
... i said they should file questions but they said they
worried that questions wouldn't be handled before last call
... i'm going to recommend they send in questions

adrianba: concerned that questions aren't always very
   actionable

paulc: implication in mail that some of the questions were
   follow-ups to last time
... i will suggest they propose more concrete changes
... all i can do is facilitate a dialogue
... i might post the questions for them if necessary and we can
   decide how to handle
... next week we will deal with MSE
... a few bugs coming in - maybe some more before pre-last call
   deadline
... plan is MSE next week and EME the week after

Adjournment

   paulc: think we're done
