[Bug 13642] New: Incorrect alt definition

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13642

           Summary: Incorrect alt definition
           Product: HTML WG
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
               URL: http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-html-markup-20110525/img.
                    html#img
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Keywords: a11y, a11y_text-alt
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
Component: HTML5: The Markup Language (editor: Michael(tm) Smith)
        AssignedTo: mike@w3.org
        ReportedBy: laura.lee.carlson@gmail.com
         QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
                CC: oedipus@hicom.net,
                    public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org,
                    public-html@w3.org, public-html-a11y@w3.org

In "HTML: The Markup Language" the current definition of alt reads:

alt = any value
The fallback content for the image.
http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-html-markup-20110525/img.html#img

Per working group decision alt is not "fallback". The new definition reads:

"The image given by the src attribute is the embedded content; the value of the
alt attribute provides equivalent content for those who cannot process images
or who have image loading disabled."
