Hi all, as per plan 2014 [1] it would seem that the main element[2] is a candidate for inclusion in 5.0 given that it is implemented in publically available nightly builds of Firefox, Webkit and Chrome I am not pushing for or see a great need for this to occur any time soon, and think it makes sense to wait, but thought I would put the topic on the chairs radar.
