+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #20665 +++

As we continue to improve IE's engine such that it runs more of the non-IE
based web, we've seen that it is now necessary to support the navigator.product
attribute. It should simply return "Gecko".

This behavior is already present in Chrome and Firefox, and IE will be adding
it soon.

Consider this for HTML5 as well to codify this behavior for interoperability
and actual site compatibility.
