Hi Doug,

I think that the spec shouldn't go into this kind of detail. The spec
intends to provide a high-level API, not direct access to particular
pieces of hardware, and we make no guarantee that the data we provide
is from any particular source.

In the case that a device can't measure rotation rate directly, I
think it should be left up to the UA to decide whether to calculate
this data from instantaneous orientation.
