Hi thanks all for quick responses,

I'm far from semantic web guru, so I might not have understood all and
will continue with stupid questions.

If the catalogs are partly overlapping, is there easy way merge the datasets?

"For more seamless integration try and normalize the vocabularies of
these data sets in a common, shared vocabulary. You may also want to
build on some of the public vocabularies already accessible."

Which are the exixting vocabularies? What vocabularies are used for
example in the data.gov.uk?

I will check these, wasn't familiar with them: "ebXML registry
specification and particularly the Registry Information Model (RIM)"
