Re: explanatory note: preventDefault, IME & keyboard input

It looks like I keep failing to communicate what I'd like to speak to you,
so let me skip all details and try as plain English as possible.

I'm trying to tell you two things; one fact and one my opinion.

First, the fact. There are some platforms that can't do what you want. So
the choices are:

1. Convince those platform people to fix it.
2. Give up supporting such platforms.
3. Change your approach or make some compromise.

If you want to go the route 2, now my opinion; I'm personally against that,
because I'm a believer of interoperable platform, even if doing so looses
some nice features on cutting-edge platforms.

You still have a choice to:

4. Convince WG and get WG resolution.

So, alternatives are 1, 3, or 4.

Did this make clearer?
