Native speaker review, partial

Sorry I haven't done more but I have found this a lengthy task.

After doing some initial mechanical staff-contacty-type changes
described earlier (and merging those), I began the native speaker
review. In doing so, I quickly found that I wanted to make more
substantive changes, which I mustn't do - that's for the editors to
consider, supported by the WG. So, I've been:

1. making straightforward "this is how a native speaker would say that"
changes. You can see them all by consulting the diff at [1] onwards.

2. Making separate notes about the changes I *would* make or at least
suggest.

I will do my best to make further progress before tomorrow's call but
for now, I can go no further. It's been a loonnnng day.

Phil
