<fjh> Add to agenda item for WebIntents to pass Resolution affirming FPWD publication

<fjh> New Participants in WG

<fjh> ScribeNick: Cathy

Welcome

fjh: We have a bunch of new members, notably jhawkins who can now take action items.

<fjh> fjh: welcome to new members of the WG, including Dongsheng from Baidu, Dong Min from Rtt and James from Google

WebIntents

fjh: CfC for FPWD completed.

<fjh> proposed RESOLUTION: DAP WG affirms publication of FPWD of WebIntents (as agreed in WebIntents TF), including changes in progress

<darobin> +1

<claes> +1

<Jungkee> +1

<fjh> proposed RESOLUTION: shortname for WebIntents is "web-intents"

RESOLUTION: shortname for WebIntents is "web-intents"

<darobin> [I point out that the final decision on this is not ours but the Director's — though I doubt there would be any objection]

<fjh> (this should be URL of editors draft heading)

fjh: darobin proposed editorial edits.

jhawkins: we'll incorporate those.

<fjh> ACTION: dsr to widen editing privileges for editing webIntents [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/06/20-dap-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-544 - Widen editing privileges for editing webIntents [on Dave Raggett - due 2012-06-27].

<Josh_Soref> scribe: Josh_Soref

<fjh> jhawkins: analysis of WebActivities with respect to WebIntents is underway, should expect email from Greg on this topic on WebIntents list soon

<jhawkins> +1

<fjh> fjh: darobin's suggestion on the list of framing architectural issues in terms of conformance targets is helpful

darobin: one thing i haven't had time to do
... is in addition to the markup oriented pass
... i wanted to go through the spec and fix up the testable assertions
... but that can be done later

fjh: greg needs to know that you're doing it

darobin: obviously i need to sync up with him
... the only thing i've touched so far, is entirely editorial
... it's faster for me to make the edits on the spec directly
... than to describe them

fjh: we'll take this to the list
... it's good that we're making progress
... we'll beat the Publishing Moratorium in July

<fjh> No DAP teleconference on 4 July 2012 (also is US holiday), and no teleconference on 18 July 2012. DAP F2F 10-12 July.

Minutes Approval

<fjh> Approve minutes from 13 June 2012

<fjh> Draft Agenda: http://www.w3.org/2009/dap/wiki/F2F_Agenda_10-12_July_2012_Burlington_MA_USA

fjh: I took a pass at the agenda yesterday
... claes you're in Europe
... which is later than us
... it's a 6 hour difference
... we need to know what our parameters are
... 10-5 tuesday
... 9:30-5 wednesday
... 9:30-3 thursday
... the goal for thursday is to let people leave early flying west
... topics for tuesday
... agenda review, web intents
... wednesday, upnp/network info/gallery
... contacts
... thursday: media capture, privacy+security, system level apis
... interop
... we might want to move interop+testing earlier
... i was concerned about splitting things up

claes: the most important slot for me is Intents UPnP
... we intend to submit the addendum to WebIntents next week
... the time slot (wednesday morning) is perfect for me

fjh: the question i had is how much of a working session will we do/need
... we have thursday morning as well
... and i don't know how significant Media Capture will be
... not sure about remotes
... we have AnssiK, Claes - morning preference
... we have Travis - afternoon preference

Josh_Soref: we could move MC to wednesday afternoon

fjh: i think that would make sense
... jhawkins what are your thoughts?
... you'll be chairing...

jhawkins: my preference is a full day

fjh: claes, you won't be involved in gallery/network info

<jhawkins> +1

fjh: if we had UPnP thursday morning, and Intents Tuesday+Wednesday morning

claes: that works
... but we could talk about UPnP+ Gallery together
... thursday morning

fjh: yeah, that makes sense to me

<jhawkins> darobin: sounds good to me

fjh: my concern is the time limit on thursday, as we're ending early
... unless we change that now

darobin: we might want mounir around for Network Info
... he hasn't answered yet, I suspect he'll be remote

Josh_Soref: and he's Europe (preference morning)
... could we do battery/proximity/vibration/network info for mornings of days
... and Intents in the second slot of days
... contacts can be an afternoon slot

<mounir> Josh_Soref: I will unlikely come to the F2F but dougt should come for Mozilla

[ fjh live edits wiki ]

<mounir> oh, I didn't know it was possible to change the answers later

<mounir> will do that then

Josh_Soref: i'd suggest network info before web intents on wednesday
... move interop and testing to tuesday afternoon

fjh: that's good, i don't want to leave it to the end
... and if anything comes up, we can deal with it
... during the meeting

Josh_Soref: move system level apis to after afternoon break on wednesday

fjh: i want to swap upnp intents to wednesday and intents part 2 to thursday

jhawkins: that's fine

Josh_Soref: +1

fjh: we'll take breaks when we want to
... we'll structure day 3 afternoon when we get to day 3 morning
... i assume we'll update gallery+contacts specs and publish
... other comments?
... claes: is this still ok with you?

claes: yes, this is ok
... if possible, if we could get time estimation for when i should call in, that would be nice

fjh: on day 1, i think web intents would be around 10:30a local time
... day 2, upnp probably around 10am local time
... i don't know when we'll want to do lunch

Cathy: i think you have to get there around 1pm

fjh: that gives us 4 hours before lunch
... i don't know exact times

claes: that's ok for now

fjh: anything else on this discussion?
... we'll probably break during web intents and upnp

Josh_Soref: tentatively, for day 1, move break between interop and privacy

Vibration

fjh: I think Anssi made updates
... and all comments were incorporated
... so we're due for publication
... objections to my sending out a CfC?

darobin: we're at CR now
... my understanding is that our changes were editorial
... it might be simpler to do the testing
... and integrate the changes before PR

fjh: so it's a question of going through testing

darobin: i was hoping to finish the test suite by the F2F

fjh: so we should wait
... thanks darobin

Web Applications Privacy Best Practices

fjh: I updated this about Informed Consent

<fjh> updated with new best practice for informed consent, ACTION-470

<darobin> +1

<fjh> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-device-apis/2012Jun/0056.html

fjh: based on my long standing action

<fjh> proposed RESOLUTION: Publish "Web Application Privacy Best Practices" as WG Note, following CfC

Josh_Soref: i'd like to read through it and send back editorial comments

fjh: i think we should do the CfC
... and you can send comments during the CfC

darobin: Josh_Soref you can send comments during the CfC

Josh_Soref: ok

RESOLUTION: Publish "Web Application Privacy Best Practices" as WG Note, following CfC

fjh: dsr, i get confused about the different kinds of notes

<fjh> ACTION: fjh to send CfC for publishing "Web Application Privacy Best Practices" as WG Note, ending next week [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/06/20-dap-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-545 - Send CfC for publishing "Web Application Privacy Best Practices" as WG Note, ending next week [on Frederick Hirsch - due 2012-06-27].

fjh: i think WG Note is the right kind

Gallery

Jungkee: brief update status of Gallery
... defining XXX
... i think we can discuss about XX1
... after I update the ED next week
... working on the media

[ garbled ]

<Jungkee> that's right

<Jungkee> i'll update the ED next week with media searching part

<fjh> jungkee: updating gallery to reflect list discussion

<Jungkee> interface and dictionary of the filters

fjh: when you update the ED, it'd be nice if you indicate where the changes are

Josh_Soref: searching reminds me of contacts
... i worry that we're reinventing the same thing again and again
... at some point i'd like to see end user oriented UCs for searching
... the implication for spec is more or less:
... Web Application asks Gallery API for content
... Gallery API implementation lets user pick content
... user picks content

<fjh> fjh: suggest that we take this to the list

Josh_Soref: Gallery Implementation returns content to Web Application

<Jungkee> alright

<Jungkee> The thing is we now exploit the Web Intents support in writing the Gallery apps

<Jungkee> so that the developers can easily utliize many different services whether or not it is local, remote

<Jungkee> sure

AOB

fjh: we have one more call ... next week
... otherwise, see people at the F2F
... thank you very much

fjh: thanks Josh_Soref for closing actions earlier

<fjh> ACTION-543 closed

Josh_Soref: note that commas in wiki pages (or any other url) cause pain to scribe scripts
