+1  Before I posted my reply I tried to figure out
what a sane limit for pax might be, hoping that it
could be some kind of standard, which could deserve
an informative reference in 2616bis.

But asking Google I got no conclusive result, only
a vague "99" hint => not convincing for UTF-16. :-)
