I suspect that the issue are referring to relates to the Mozilla Extension "HTML Validator (based on TIDY)" which can be found at http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/
 
I have used this and have found that it often needs to be reinstalled after a Mozilla upgrade but you should probably refer problems to the author.
