Status Update
- Previous Action items except for Issue list one have been completed
- Publishing of Working Drafts and Last Call has left our hands and the
ball is now in W3C (webreq) to prep it for publishing - should happen in
a week's time
- Many thanks to Joseph Reagle for fixing many of the errors in the
drafts to make it valid XHTML and also for fixing many other (not so)
minor details.
- Joseph added that the docs to be published must standardize on pubrules to generate quality
documents
- XKMS Requirements - Mike Just & Fedrick
Hirsch
- Thanks to Mike Just and Federick Hirsch for very good editing work.
- The requirements document is scheduled for last call, "The last call
period is 3 weeks, ending on 15 April 2002.". A notice has been sent to
webreq to publish this. TimBL has already approved this request. A major
delay was due to the fact that we could not get Specs validated and
tweaked in-time to publish. Also, due to the variety of tools that we
use, there were also other problems. We have now rectified most of them
and from now on it must be a lot smoother.
- It was suggested to the Editors not to update the Requirements during
Last Call phase, but, maintain a issue list so that it can be rolled-up
after April 15th into the document.
- Add Yassir's comment (mid-feb) to the issue list
- Add to issue list - Clarification of section 2.1.8 for key word (MUST,
SHOULD, etc) usage
- XKMS Specification - Phill Baker
- Concentrate on Editing changes, clean-up, removing design rationale as
specs don't contain those. Removed much introductory material that
belongs to Requirements. Removed notion of Tiers.
- Working on cleaning up of XHTML and using current validators to make
the spec more browser friendly; plans to work on a XSL script to generate
TOC - Joseph suggested use of style sheets from XML Encryption WG
- Spent most time carrying the split of Register element throught the
entire document. Also making the flow consistent for schema, attributes,
and elements.
- Added UsedKeyWith and took out KeyId
- Likely going to do Payload Authentication. Want to do Enveloped so that
Signature is not a top-level element. Indicated that this aligns better
with Web Service Model.
- Spec is currently missing Message Layer, Root Key Management & Key
Agreement items. These could possibly be items for discussion in the
F2F
- X-BULK
- Phill has sent Merlin a new schema and they are working together to
make both specs consistent and non-overlapping.
