HyTIme retains much of this musical influence in the choice of metaphors. HyTime devotes much effort to schedulinging in space and time the appearance of events (which might be musical notes, might be documents HyTime documents are available by FTP from mailer.cs.fsu.edu in pub/sgml (Old info, not sure if still true)
