KNOWLEDGE
ENGINEER/SECTION HEAD
NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY,
seeks a Knowledge Engineer/Section Head with The Institute for
Complex Additive Systems Analysis (ICASA). Successful applicant will
create, develop, manage, maintain, and use knowledge representation
models to address the information needs of ICASA analysts, modelers and
external customers.
Masters degree required in Computer Science, Linguistics, Library
Science, Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Representation or Lexical
Semantics. Must have expertise in logic-based/knowledge representation
languages such as LISP, PROLOG, CLIPS, KIF, DAML, OIL, OWL.
Must have experience in several of the following areas: Ontology building
and development, knowledge acquisition, knowledge modeling, rule-based
systems, machine learning, and neural networks.
Must be familiar with the following disciplines: knowledge
representation, knowledge engineering, semantic web, artificial
intelligence, multi-agent systems, natural-language processing.
Proficiency in small to medium scale project management and time
management required.
Must have the ability to work productively in both team and individual
settings, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and
initiative in both critical thinking and forward thinking, and commitment
to excellence.
Must have the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance with full
lifestyle and counter-intelligence poly-graphs required.
Desired skills: state-of-the-art ontology acquisition tools and systems,
Unix and Windows environments, and 5 years of software development
experience.
