Greetings from Ho Chi Minh City! This is my first time posting to this mailing list so WAI staff, feel free to let me know if my post needs some tweaks or relocation. We're conducting a research study on how well AI systems generate accessible web code. We're looking for blind or low-vision web developers to evaluate 10 AI-generated HTML navigation components using their screen readers. *Some notes b**efore you continue reading* Because the study hinges on production-grade judgment, we can only accommodate participants whose lived experience closely matches the requirements below. Thanks in advance for understanding. *What participants will do* - Review 10 short HTML code samples (~100-200 lines each) - Rate each sample on accessibility, effort-to-fix, and production-readiness - Optionally describe any issues you notice - Share overall impressions *Details* - Time: 30-45 minutes, self-paced - Format: Single HTML page opened in your browser (fully accessible, 0 axe-core violations) - Screen readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, or Orca - use whichever you prefer - Compensation: up to 50 USD - Privacy: All responses are anonymized. No personal data is stored beyond what you provide. *Who we're looking for* - Blind or low-vision, with lived experience using a desktop screen reader daily. - At least 1 year of web development or accessibility-auditing experience. - Comfortable reading and critiquing HTML/CSS/JavaScript. - Able to screen record your session (audio + screen) and submit the JSON output. *How to participate* 1. Reply to this email with your screen reader, browser, and availability 2. I’ll confirm fit and send the zipped evaluation page, consent form, and instructions. Because we aim for high-quality, production-grade responses, we will only follow up with participants whose backgrounds clearly match the criteria 3. Complete at your own pace, screen record the entire process, and send back the results (JSON + video) 4. Payment within 48 hours of an accepted submission *About the research* We're developing a new metric that measures whether AI code generation tools genuinely understand accessibility requirements or just pattern-match. Your expert evaluation helps us validate whether our metric aligns with real-world screen reader experience. Questions? Reply to this email or reach me at dung@therayo.com. Know anyone who may benefit from this? Simply forward this email to them. Thank you for considering this study. Your expertise is invaluable.
