W3C Public Newsletter 16 April 2007 Toward More Transparent Government: Call for Participation Position papers are due 2 May for Toward More Transparent Government: Workshop on eGovernment and the Web co-sponsored by the Web Science Research Initiative (WSRI) to be held 18-19 June 2007 in Washington, D.C., USA, hosted by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. Attendees will help to find ways of facilitating the deployment of Web standards across eGovernment sites. The goal of the Workshop is to help shape ongoing research in the development of Web technology and public policy, in order to realize the potential of the Web for access to, and use of, government information. With these attributes, semantic annotations can be added to Web Services Description Language (WSDL) components for use in classifying, discovering, matching, composing, and invoking Web services. Comments on changes since Candidate Recommendation are welcome through 1 May. The Extensible MultiModal Annotation language (EMMA) is a data exchange format for interaction management systems. Part of the "W3C Multimodal Interaction Framework," the specification describes markup for describing user input together with annotations such as confidence scores, timestamps and input medium.
