(ML) OMM applications: Exhibit at Hannover Messe Industrie 2012
* Assembly of a keyfinder; tagged with RFID (256 byte).
* Process control: variations of resource-oriented manufacturing.
* OMM XML model; conversion via Thrift [1] (Java, C#, own conversion on PLC) to a binary format.
* On chip: only payload, OMM header excluded.
* Minor issue: Strings generate metadata (2 byte).
* Advantage of Thrift conversion: model changes easy to handle (PLC solution excepted).
* Overall performance depends greatly on performance of wireless data transfer.
* Additional discussion of technical details after the call.

* In discussion: W3C workshop on September 10, 2012.
* Intended auditory: W3C, OMM experts and users, industry.
* Goal: Discuss impact and direction of a standardization at W3C.
* Approach: Prepare a charter of a potential Working Group.
* Circulate among experts and external groups.
* Participation does not necessarily express a committment to a participation in a WG
* Link to activities of EIT-ICT Labs in discussion.
