This is a Call for Review of a proposed recharter for the Web of Things 
(WoT) Working Group:

The deadline for responses is 23:59 UTC on 31 August 2026 [0].

The mission of the Web of Things Working Group is to maintain and extend 
the family of WoT deliverables with new functionalities to support 
desired use cases. This work supports the overarching mission of the Web 
of Things to counteract fragmentation in the Internet of Things (IoT) by 
providing building blocks that enable seamless integration of devices 
and services across the IoT ecosystem.

Compared with the current charter, the proposed charter introduces the 
WoT Binding Registry, and adds a tentative deliverable for the WoT Thing 
Protocol, defining HTTP and WebSocket sub-protocols for monitoring and 
controlling connected devices over the World Wide Web.

The proposed Team resource for this group remains at 0.2 FTE.

The Advisory Committee Representatives of current participants will need 
to have their organizations re-join the group if the revised charter is 
approved.
