I'm participating in this workshop with the following two objectives:

1. Designing a solution for VGS, Inc. (largest sign manufacturer in the U.S.): RDF/XML can address some major internal and external communicational problems. The company's assets are large graphics files for the design and the content of about 2500 different products that are sharing components. While a generic BOM (Bill of Material) is being utilized, we're currently developing a new system that defines the structure of products using the Semantic Web concepts. RDF/XML enables us to communicate with our vendor and subcontractors in future.

2. My Research Interest:

• Analyzing different life needs and streamlining the process of publishing and retrieving information from the web with the goal of maintaining the "equilibrium" between people and information as Tim Berners-Lee outlined.
• Assuming the Semantic Web becomes as popular as HTML, how much intelligence can we derive from this system? How can this affect our design decisions?
