karlcow has just submitted a new pull request for https://github.com/w3c/svgwg: == Clarify handling of negative values for geometry properties == Negative values on r, rx, ry, width and height are treated as the property's initial value (auto, or 0 for r) rather than vaguely "ignored"; cx/cy accept negatives.
