Abstract

This document describes a precise semantics for RDF 1.2 Concepts and Abstract Data Model [RDF12-CONCEPTS] and RDF 1.2 Schema [RDF12-SCHEMA]. It defines a number of distinct entailment regimes and corresponding patterns of entailment. It is part of a suite of documents which comprise the full specification of RDF 1.2.

Status of the Document

This section describes the status of this document at the time of its publication. A list of current W3C publications and the latest revision of this technical report can be found in the W3C standards and drafts index. 

This document is part of the RDF 1.2 document suite. This is a revision of the 2014 Semantics specification for RDF [RDF11-MT] and supersedes that document. 

To exit the W3C Candidate Recommendation phase, the W3C RDF & SPARQL Working Group requires that at least two independent implementations pass each test of the dedicated test suite. 

This document was published by the RDF & SPARQL Working Group as a Candidate Recommendation Snapshot using the Recommendation track.

Publication as a Candidate Recommendation does not imply endorsement by W3C and its Members. A Candidate Recommendation Snapshot has received wide review, is intended to gather implementation experience, and has commitments from Working Group members to royalty-free licensing for implementations. Future updates to this upcoming Recommendation may incorporate new features .

This Candidate Recommendation is not expected to advance to Recommendation any earlier than 05 May 2026.
