Dear Advisory Committee Representative,
[this announcement will be forwarded to Chairs, AB, TAG and Board of
Directors, as well as the PWE CG without AC review details]
W3C is pleased to announce that the new version of the Code of Conduct
has been adopted and is in effect:
Positive Work Environment at W3C: Code of Conduct
18 March 2024
https://www.w3.org/policies/code-of-conduct/20240318/
This document supersedes the 16 Jul 2020 CEPC [1].
Note that we use “Code” throughout the document as shorthand to avoid
the pejorative connotation of the acronym “CoC” and we ask that you
adopt it for your usage as well.
W3C's Code of Conduct defines expected and unacceptable behaviors and
promotes high standards of professional practice. The goals of this Code
are to:
• Ensure that everyone who participates is treated equitably and
with respect.
• Define a standard of acceptable behavior for the organization.
• Contribute to the identity of the organization.
• Identify unacceptable behaviors.
• Provide guidance to participants on addressing issues.
Many thanks to the Positive Work Environment Community Group [2], its
Chairs Tzviya Siegman and Wendy Reid, its editors Tzviya Siegman
(Wiley), Anqi (Angel) Li (W3C), Ada Rose Cannon (Samsung), Wendy Reid
(Rakuten Kobo), and its contributors for their extensive work on this
effort and producing this new Code.
