Dear colleagues,
I am used to being the only opponent.
I suggest restructuring the documentation as follows.
The Publishing Community Group already maintains explanatory guidance
in Expressing
Accessibility Metadata in the EPUB Package Document
<https://w3c.github.io/publ-a11y/package-metadata-authoring-guide/>
and the Metadata
Display Guide
<https://www.w3.org/publishing/a11y/metadata-display-guide/guidelines/>
Together with the current content of Section 3 ("EPUB objectives"), such
material would fit naturally within a coherent set of Understanding
documents.
PMWG should focus on explaining EPUB Accessibility requirements and their
relationship to WCAG.
This would provide a clearer and more coherent documentation structure. At
present, explanatory material is distributed across multiple groups and
multiple documents, while Section 3 largely repeats material already
covered by EPUB 3.4, EPUB Reading Systems 3.4, and EPUB Accessibility 1.2.
Regards,
Makoto
