Hi everyone, Following today's announcements, I'd like to formally propose http-schnorr-auth as a CG work item. 1. Title: HTTP Authentication Using Schnorr Signatures 2. Summary: A method for authenticating HTTP requests using Schnorr signatures, enabling decentralized authentication with Nostr/Bitcoin keys. 3. Nostr Connection: Based on NIP-98, uses kind 27235 events with the same serialization and signing as all Nostr events. 4. Web Standards Alignment: - Builds on RFC 7235 (HTTP Authentication) - Integrates with did:nostr (W3C registered DID method) - WebID profile integration - Potential alignment with Solid authentication (LWS WG) 5. Output Format: W3C Community Group Report 6. Contributors: - Melvin Carvalho (editor) - [looking for additional contributors] 7. Collaboration: - Repo: https://github.com/nostrcg/http-schnorr-auth - Spec: https://nostrcg.github.io/http-schnorr-auth/ - Version: 0.0.1 8. Additional Context: - Reference implementations exist (JSS, Podkey) - Complements the did:nostr work item - Battle-tested in Nostr ecosystem via NIP-98 Looking for feedback and additional contributors. Best, Melvin
