Dear Norm and list, I am pretty confident that the new humans will reject the so-called 'wisdom' of their elders who spurn XML. At least some of them. XML is the new Assembler. To Bethan's point, I am not sure the name of the conference needs to be entirely intelligible or defensible. It only needs to be attractive to (of?) the right people, i.e. the ones actually interested in the topic. "Declarative Amsterdam" and "Balisage: the Markup Conference" have not really confused anyone who was not already confused. And again, I am pretty sure that upcoming generations will not always accept conventional wisdom at face value. If they do, they will be the first.
