(the ideal display except for bullet position: ltr directionality is specified in the html tag and in the ul tag; rtl directionality specified for the rtl list element; in addition, I put in a bunch of right padding on the 40em div to get this effect; too bad that the bullets do not display on the left though; text size needs to be medium to see the ideal display)
