The irony did not escape us and in fact is the second very interesting event of this nature. The 4th King after a referendum asking the people if they would like democracy over a monarchy, democracy was rejected with more than 90% of the vote, still introduced democracy. So it is only fitting that his son the 5th king gave the people self-sovereign identities.
Bhutan is an amazing place and hopefully we will make it even better with the digital transformation with SSI, DID and privacy at the foundation of the transformation.
