Hi, folks, below is a summary and minutes from today's meeting. Please
note: we are planning to send pre-reads on Monday for next Thursday's
meeting, cheers!
*Summary*
- *Thursday meeting start time:* We are waiting to hear from Jan about
the scheduling survey
<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xibMhwgS1l4101QmtNjM3ZCLF0TNTa_hh2HDzf919z4/edit?gid=0#gid=0>
before we align on starting future weeks at 9am ET or 10am ET.
- *COGA member contact info:* Julie asked COGA members participating in
the WCAG 3 review to add their email addresses to a new section of our
review doc
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jLkvaCNxpk1xJ-yuyTWciizRe3GkGWPc-3yu6ZJLIqg/edit?pli=1&tab=t.uggxirp4slpc#heading=h.sllvpovoqb86>.
The goal is to help COGA members collaborate when reviewing WCAG 3 sections.
- *AG's monthly WCAG 3 surveys:* We discussed the new survey
<https://www.w3.org/wbs/35422/wcag3-provision-survey-01/> that Alastair
emailed on March 4th, with a March 18th deadline. It highlights three WCAG
3 provisions (including one about flashing) that have been updated in
google docs with changes that are not yet reflected in the working draft.
The AG chairs plan to send this kind of survey monthly.
- Lisa thinks COGA as a group does not have the bandwidth to
participate in these surveys while we're doing a holistic review of the
WCAG 3 working draft.
- Instead, Julie will briefly flag the group each time a new survey
comes out, and COGA members can decide on their own if they want to
participate.
- *Scheduling the next guideline review: *We have scheduled several
weeks of review discussions
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jLkvaCNxpk1xJ-yuyTWciizRe3GkGWPc-3yu6ZJLIqg/edit?pli=1&tab=t.uggxirp4slpc#heading=h.egzcpf9lcdg2>
but are waiting to hear from Jan and Len if they're OK to push back the
"Text and Wording" discussion to March 19th so we can discuss "Error
Handling" on March 12th.
- Either way, the goal is for COGA section reviewers to send a
pre-read on Mondays so other members have time to read those tabs before
our Thursday discussions.
- *Animation and movement: *We went through Eric's review comments
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jLkvaCNxpk1xJ-yuyTWciizRe3GkGWPc-3yu6ZJLIqg/edit?pli=1&tab=t.le3u086d4so5>
and
added a few more issues that were missing. Lisa noted that she took a
different approach in her "Error Handling" review
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jLkvaCNxpk1xJ-yuyTWciizRe3GkGWPc-3yu6ZJLIqg/edit?pli=1&tab=t.5gxd4veirbbq>.
We discuss the different approaches in more detail next week.
- *Issue template:* We worked on a template to use for GitHub issues
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jLkvaCNxpk1xJ-yuyTWciizRe3GkGWPc-3yu6ZJLIqg/edit?pli=1&tab=t.qu0e1x9ear84>
that Eric is going to use to update his existing feedback. Julie encouraged
everyone to use heading structure in the section tabs so we can find the
issues more easily.
