COGA: September 8th meeting summary, plus your input requested

Hi, folks, below is a summary of today's meeting, plus a request for your
input on a few questions about how to help members engage with COGA.

*Important note *
COGA has stopped experimenting with an AI note-taking tool because it
presented a significant participation barrier for one of our members (due
to security concerns at that person's workplace). What follows is an
old-fashioned, 100% human-generated summary. 😀

*Summary of today's COGA meeting*

   - We updated the COGA Action Items google doc

   including:
      - *Next version of Making Content Usable:* Starting next week, we'll
      ask the COGA task force to review the first V2 pattern that has been
      reformatted in the new template. We'll share more about this soon.
      - *Internationalization: *The first V2 pattern has already been
      reviewed by the Global Inclusion community group. We are trying
to get the
      2nd pattern (and possibly the 3rd pattern) ready to be discussed by Jan's
      group this Wednesday.
      - *WCAG 3:* We'll use this Thursday's meeting to discuss GitHub
      issues with Eric and also to start chunking out upcoming COGA reviews of
      different aspects of WCAG 3, including drafts of user needs, tests, and
      techniques.
      - *Research papers:* We agreed not to delay publication but will see
      if Charli has time to clean up the citations while we're getting the rest
      of the papers ready in GitHub.
   - We also talked about possible ways to try to help people engage with
   COGA. See next section for details.

*How to help members engage with COGA?*
We continued this summer's brainstorming discussions about helping people
engage with COGA

Two specific ideas we discussed today and would like feedback on from
anyone who was not at today's meeting:

   - *Possibly replacing the COGA Action Items google doc with a
   spreadsheet *
      - This summer we added tabs to make the google doc

      easier to use, but maybe the new spreadsheet that Eric drafted

      would be an even easier-to-use format.

         - Is the Google sheet accessible to you? Any barriers to
         participation?
         - Do you have a strong preference for sticking with the google doc?
      - If the spreadsheet works for everyone, then we'll make improvements
      to it, such as adding a first tab to help users get their bearings.
   - *Possibly creating a COGA channel on Slack*
      - Some users expressed concern about getting too many emails from
      COGA and W3C.

         - Is Slack accessible to you? Any barriers to participation?
         - Do you have a strong preference for sticking with email as the
         main way for COGA members to get answers to questions?
      - If everyone wants to try using a COGA channel on Slack, Len
      volunteered to help train COGA members, including how to toggle between a
      Slack channel for your own workplace and for COGA.
   - *Any other suggestions?*
      - Please add them to helping people engage with COGA
