I just deposited a new draft of the versioning spec at the location in the
subject
line of this message.
It still has a variety of rough edges (soggy edges? :-), but it does include
the
elaborations on the methods mailed in by JimW/JeffM/BradS (thanks!!!).
I've also tried writing up a variety of the issues that have been discussed
on
the mailing list, just to see how they look in black and white.
In particular, I added a "repository" section to give us a handle on
versioned
resource and revision URL's, I got rid of "history resources", and now use
a special value of the Target-Selector header to look at the underlying
properties of a versioned resource (suggested by JimA). I tried splitting
the Target-Selector header into a Workspace and a Revision-Selector
header, but in the end decided that I agreed with Tim, and put them back as
just one header. I elaborated the CHECKIN method a bit, and while I was
in there, collapsed the UNCHECKOUT method into the CHECKIN
method (there already was a IDENTICAL-UNCHECKOUT, so an
unconditional UNCHECKOUT was pretty natural). And lots more stuff ... (:-).
So if anyone has a chance to read it before the standard Monday 2pm
versioning conference call, that would give us something to discuss.

out a reminder tomorrow morning.
