Keith,

I, too, am concerned that the work being done by the Delta-V group isn't being perceived as important, or that there isn't general interest in such a spec. I have been involved with WebDAV now for about three years, almost two years as a member of the design team for versioning. Being involved deeply in versioning in the document management space, and now with document collaboration across the internet, I believe fully in the need for the WebDAV and Delta-V specs. Without them, internet apps have no standard way to interoperate. And WebDAV is nowhere near complete if we leave out versioning support.

It can be difficult to find time to participate in committees such as Delta-V because the work requires a great deal of time in the midst of other projects everyone is involved in. Going to Oslo, for instance, would have been a big cost in time and money, so we agreed to have Geoff represent the design team. At all other meetings (state-side) we ALWAYS have great participation and attendance. The members of the design team have dedicated hundreds and hundreds of hours to this important spec, with widespread support from the industry community.

I plan to continue devoting effort and time to this important standard. Not because I have time on my hands (far from it!) but because I truly believe it is an important and critical standard to be developed.

Thanks.
