This was mostly caused by a mistaken impression that we were going to figure out the details and publish a spec and didn't want to bother everyone with our ramblings. The other really stupid reason is many of us have just been using the wrong mail alias. Finally, WebDAV versioning is becoming more formalized with the introduction of the DELTA-V working group. I hope you will see lots more public email discussing configurations and other issues. The teleconferences are intended to help us make faster progress than we can over email. Sometimes it is very hard to communicate, especially with low bandwidth and time delays. I am keeping a database of all issues and their resolutions. Unfortunately, this is a Notes database and I'm still trying to figure out some way to make it public. In any case, I will send out each new entry and response to the mailing list. Again, sorry about the missed communication. The input of others is very valuable, and often carries more weight than that of design team members as we all have vested interests in our contributions. It is close to impossible for me to track responses and the interactions with the kind of batch forwarding that is going on. This is *not* conducive to an open process. Furthermore, one cannot go to the archive and see the discussion thread since most messages are being forwarded by Jim. Please! stop this. I appreciate what Jim is doing and I appreciate him taking the time. However, others in the design team should take it up on themselves to keep the process transparent.
