if you mean https://validator.nu/, that’s been around for some time;
and yes, there’s https://validator.w3.org/, which allows to validate
against a number of different doctypes.

No, they haven’t been murdered. They are a bit limited in
functionality but nothing prevents anyone from still using these
doctypes.
