Chime and DanC, I just sent in the pub-request for GRDDL Test Cases to webreq@w3.org. Cross fingers! Here's an e-mail I've drafted for the announcement of GRDDL Last Call, which I thought would be useful. Assuming everything goes well, feel free to edit this or write an entirely new one, and send it out to various listservs, at least semantic-web@w3.org and microformat listservs. ---------------------------------------------------- The W3C GRDDL WG has published the "GRDDL Test Cases" [1] as a Last Call document. Current Version: http://www.w3.org/TR/2007/WD-grddl-tests-20070502/ Latest Version: http://www.w3.org/TR/grddl-tests/ There is a widespread misunderstanding that microformats and the Semantic Web are competitors, and that it's difficult to move from legacy XML dialects to RDF. Yet GRDDL (Gleaning Resource Descriptions from Dialects of Langauge) makes it simple. In order to help developers implement GRDDL, we are finalizing a comprehensive set of test cases. We would like developers who would like to develop GRDDL-enabled applications or developers who are or were working on GRDDL beforehand to run their implementations with the GRDDL Test Cases, and report back any issues or problems. A list of current implementations is maintained on the wiki: http://esw.w3.org/topic/GrddlImplementations The GRDDL WG believes this document fulfills requirements set forth in its charter, in particular "tutorial materials and use cases sufficient to bootstrap adoption of GRDDL" [2]. The Last Call review period is from May 2nd to May 30th, and the GRDDL WG would definitely appreciate any comments. Comments should be sent to the public list-serv public-grddl-comments@w3.org [3]. This document was produced by a group operating under the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy. W3C maintains a public list of any patent disclosures made in connection with the deliverables of the group; that page also includes instructions for disclosing a patent. An individual who has actual knowledge of a patent which the individual believes contains Essential Claim(s) must disclose the information in accordance with section 6 of the W3C Patent Policy.
