not just odd, plain against the EU policy, I remember dissemination
being a mandatory activity
to obtain funding, however I remember lots and lots of fiddling
being done (dissemination
could be done nominally by publishing a few papers and organising a
couple of seminars)

it looks like the next mission is waiting, buccaneers

this can be achieved by dog food exercise, of which our friends on
this list are specialists,

and/or
by policy (forcing our esteemed colleagues who get funded to publish
their stuff in a directory, and make sure good, exhaustive, well
developed training material goes with the stuff

a problem could be that training is generally not what
developers/researchers are naturally inclined towards - it takes some
training to become a trainer, as teachers and lecturers know well,

and I really hope such requirement is not just another excuse to
syphon loadsa money from the public funding system and that grassroot
and community initiatives to promote dissemenitation )like student
volunteers etc) will be generously sponsored and supported by funded
institutions
