Dear All This is to announce the release of Eyeball 2.1. /What is Eyeball?/ Eyeball is a tool for detecting problems with RDF data: misconstructed URIs, classes and properties with no definition, mis-spelled literals, etc. Eyeball is extensible: if you can work with the Jena Java API, you can write your own Inspectors and have Eyeball apply them to your data. /What do I need to run it?/ Eyeball is a Java application; you need to be able to run Java. It comes as a complete application with all the necessary jars (including the required version of Jena). /What does it do?/ You can read the Eyeball manual at: http://jena.sourceforge.net/Eyeball/full.html to decide if Eyeball does something you're interested in. Or you can download it (URL below) and try the one-minute introduction at http://jena.sourceforge.net/Eyeball/ /What's new in Eyeball 2.1?/ You can "sign" an Eyeballed model and later check that the model has a matching signature rather than running all the tests again. You can provide templates for permitted URIs. You can express checks as SPARQL queries. The reference manual has been reorganised to present material in what I hope is a more useful order, and a brief description on how to write an Inspector has been added. /Where can I get it from?/ The Eyeball download page is https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=40417&package_id=148927 /What support does it have?/ Eyeball is lightly maintained by its author, one of the Jena team. Support is available on the jena-dev mailing list (jena-dev@yahoogroups.com; subscription required) under the usual Jena support terms. -- "Look at the day that is dawning" - Caravan, /Nine Feet Underground/ Hewlett-Packard Limited Cain Road, Bracknell, registered no: registered office: Berks RG12 1HN 690597 England
