Rather than just answer these questions I thought I'd show you where you can 
find the information yourself so that you can keep track of new versions as 
they emerge.

They are both W3C standards whose page is at http://www.w3.org/ .

DTD is defined as part of the main XML spec which is at: 
http://www.w3.org/TR/xml/ .  The original is at 
http://www.w3.org/TR/1998/REC-xml-19980210 .

XML Schema spec is at http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-1/ (the original is at 
http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-xmlschema-1-20010502/ ).
