After removing the namespace="", XSV is happy.  Or rather, it finds
the other, uninteresting, error, namely:

<invalid char="1" code="cvc-complex-type.1.3" line="1"
    resource="file:///amd/nfs/rhymer.cogsci.ed.ac.uk/export/ltg/users/ht/xml/xmlschema/monk/objectb2.xml">undeclared attribute {http://dcx.com/namespaces/sein/dbtk/db2}:table</invalid>
