Try adding elementFormDefault="qualified" to the second line in the xyz.xsd
file so it would look like:
<xsd:schema targetNamespace="http://www.hp.com/discovery"
xmlns="http://www.hp.com/discovery"
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:discovery="http://www.hp.com/discovery"
elementFormDefault="qualified">
