Yes, but it is a parser specific behavior. The XSDSetSchema example in the Oracle XML Schema Processor for Java (http://technet.oracle.com/tech/xml/schema_java/) demonstrates the app setting the schema used to validate instance documents. Apache Xerces-J doesn't support this and is still using the April draft at this time. However, both are on their requirements list.
