Heh, well rather than open up this one again, I'll just point out
a thread that already covered the discussion;


For some more context about why I believe 500 is the right choice, see;


FWIW, if SOAP were only used for RPC, and HTTP was only used as a
transport protocol, 200 would be a better response code.
